Fabric Friday: French General

Say “oui” to the sophisticatedly simple fabrics by French General for Moda. Plaids and floral prints in retro palettes remind of wallpaper in a quaint Parisian inn. Ooh-la-la!

A striped print by French General adds extra class to our Streetcar Bag (IJ874), a 1950s-inspired roomy carryall with a pretty pleated overlay or a stylized flap and pleated pocket.

We used pretty flower coordinates to construct the Side Pocket Purse (IJ859), a shoulder bag with compartments and patchwork side pockets. An interior pocket can be made with recycled denim. An elastic top and optional magnetic sew-in snap secures your goods in style.

French General’s latest collection, Rouenneries Deux, delights in faded cranberry, cream and soft pink, adding fabulous kitsch to a kitchen as an apron, tablecloth or placemats. Stitch a romantic quilt with vintage appeal or use for home decor projects in a classic chic setting. We used it below to create our brand new purse design, the Thrifted Fashion Bag (IJ933).
